More than Human at the Design Museum

The Design Museum in London鈥檚 latest exhibition, , is a fresh foray into the question of how we work with, and for, the natural world. It is an intriguing show (on until 5 October), with thought-provoking, stunning installations.

Being Landscape kicks things off, with its emphasis that humans are part of the natural world, from the woven baskets (pictured above) of the Indigenous Ye鈥檏uana people of Venezuela and Brazil to the rumiti, ivy-covered 鈥渢ree-men鈥 of southern Italy.

Next is Making with the World, which features architect Andr茅s Jaque鈥檚 Transspecies Rosette. A beautiful, practical cork-and-resin cladding that provides waterproof insulation for buildings and a home for microbes, fungi and more.

Shifting Perspective is a fitting finale, with a tapestry iteration of artist Alexandra Daisy Ginsberg鈥檚 Pollinator Pathmaker project at its centre. This shows a garden from an insect鈥檚 perspective, challenging us to see the world as animals and plants do.
