In early August UUNET one of the commercial backbones of the Internet also
suffered. Mail bombers blocked all messages to Usenet from UUNET, claiming the
company was doing nothing to stem the tide of spam originating from its network.
In response UUNET changed its home page (http://www.usa.uu.net/) and tightened
up its anti-spam policy.
