A virtual fish auction has been created by scientists working at the
Artificial Intelligence Research Institute in Barcelona. The software, which is
still being developed, mimics the traditional activities at fish markets and
guarantees that everyone participating in the auction is treated equally. The
software is not limited to fish—it could also be used for sales of other
goods, including works of art, says Pablo Noriega, one of the software’s
developers.
