The British government has established a taskforce to assess the risk of a
meteorite striking the Earth and the possible damage it may cause. Science
Minister Lord Sainsbury announced on Monday that a team of experts will advise
him about the likelihood of such a threat and the action, such as evacuation or
nuclear deflection, that should be taken if such a situation arose.
